The Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development Master of Science (MSc) Fellowship Programme The Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), on behalf of the Government of Hungary, has established a Fellowships programme for Master of Science (MSc) degrees. The application deadline is 28 February 2014. Students may apply who are originating from and residing in eligible countries. Workshop on Developing Knowledge-Sharing Partnerships Nearly 40 experts representing 15 countries are meeting at St Stephen University on 4-5 December 2013, to discuss the opportunities of regional collaboration in the field of research, extension, training and other sectors of knowledge production.

FAO holds Regional Round Table on Problems of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in Budapest - Hungary beetween 3-5 April 2012 Participants discuss cultivation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, presentation of MAPs in the differenet regions of Europe such as the Nordic countries, Russian Federation, the Balkan, etc. ESCORENA network is presented and new subnetwork created and updated.

New booklet published: The Hungarian Agriculture and Food Industry in Figures 2010 Among its priorities, Hungary’s new government wishes to focus on rural development by creating more liveable conditions in rural areas and increasing their employment potential.For the achievement of these targets, a major role is played both by the development of agricultural, environmental and landscape management based on the principle of sustainability, and by the introduction of environmental protection arrangements consistent with the interests of profitable farming practice.

New website launched for Food Quality&Origin in Europe and Central Asia project Hungarian expert provided technical support in order to develop the “Quality & Origin in Europe and Central Asia - traditional agricultural and food products” website.
