Informal Coordination Meeting on Climate Change (FAO, Rome) 11.03.2009 01:00 Category: Home page news The Informal Coordination Meeting on Climate Change: Impacts, Adaptation and Mitigation in Fisheries and Aquaculture was held in FAO, Rome, on 9-11 March 2009 with participation of FAO, the World Bank, the World Fish Center, the Benguela Current Commission (BCC), CEPESCA, ICES, NACA, NACEE, OECD, OSPESCA, QUEST-Fish, SEAFDEC, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, UNEP and UNISDR. Gaps and opportunities in different areas were discussed and joint activities were proposed for the future. Following the meeting, on 12 March, a workshop was organized by the Quest_Fish project with the title "Envisioning 2050: Future scenarios for the fisheries and aquaculture sectors". The objective of the meeting was to develop possible scenarios of the development of the fisheries and aquaculture sector until 2050.
